Bank Logic

Is it just me, or do banks suck? Situation this:

I went to the bank today deposit a check that a client gave me. I deposit said check into my account. The teller, while processing the check tells me there will be a hold.

“That is fine,” I say, “how long will it be?”.
“friday” she replies.
Today is wednesday…
“I really would prefer the money sooner, it would be nice if I could get that cleared early. Is there any reason that I can not just have it cleared faster?”
“Hold on please, I can ask my manager..” she says while walking towards the back room.
10 minutes go by and she returns.
“We can have it cleared, but since there is a hold on it you will need to call in two days to see if we can clear it then.”
Keeping in mind today is wednesday, two days would be friday which is the initial day she told me the hold would be lifted.
I reply, “That would be friday.. right?”
“Correct”
“Friday is the day that you told me the check would clear initially… so.. I can put the check in now and wait until friday, or.. I can give you the check and then give you a call on friday and see if you can clear it then since I asked you if you can clear it sooner.. correct?”
“Correct” came the reply.
“…. and.. you do not see a problem with this logic?” I asked.
“What logic?”
It was at that point I turned and left the bank.
